About Erica J. Pedraza

Erica is a Las Cruces native, raised by a hard-working immigrant single mother and fluent in the Spanish language. Erica graduated from New Mexico State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. As an undergraduate student, Erica had the pleasure to intern with the New Mexico Corrections Department Adult Probation and Parole Division.

After graduation, Erica started her career at the Third Judicial District Attorney’s Office. She quickly climbed the ladder from Legal Assistant to Senior Legal Assistant and then finally Prosecution Specialist where she specialized in probation violation cases. Shortly after, Erica had the privilege to serve her country as a Legal Assistant with the United States Attorney’s Office in the United States Department of Justice, District of New Mexico. As a federal legal assistant, Erica passionately assisted federal prosecutors in high profile immigration, drug, and firearm cases.

Erica plans to attend law school to achieve her lifelong dream of serving her community by becoming an attorney herself. She strives for excellence and motivates herself to exceed expectations and accepts nothing less than a perfect effort.

In her free time, Erica enjoys attending church, spending time with family and close friends, going to the gym, and fishing.
