About Renee Waskiewicz

A proud graduate of New Mexico State University (NMSU), Renee Waskiewicz earned a degree in Criminal Justice in 1988, which laid the foundation for a distinguished career.

Renee is a seasoned criminal justice professional with 28 years of dedicated service in probation and parole for the State of New Mexico’s Correction Department. Starting as a street officer, Renee advanced to the role of Region Manager, demonstrating leadership, expertise, and a deep commitment to public safety.

Rooted in the community, Renee comes from a prominent local family with deep ties to Dona Ana dating back to the Civil War. This heritage has fostered a strong sense of connection and service to the region.

Beyond her professional achievements, Renee volunteers her time at several local organizations, including the Fountain Theatre and Action Programs for Animals, reflecting her dedication to community enrichment and animal welfare.

In her spare time, Renee works with stained glass, creating new and unique patterns that showcase creativity and craftsmanship. She is also an avid reader loving memoirs of ordinary people with extraordinary experiences.
